if i had to list the best of hindi movie song composers it would start with the greatest:
Madan Mohan - this man knew the perfect relationship between words and notes; they always complemented each other. in his compositions the notes always tend to tease each other while they move along a complex and dangerous cliff of hindustani classical music, always close to the edge! i just love them :)
